It's the final "Spring Watch" tonight. (For Patty, in Portland, "Spring Watch" is a TV programme, on for three weeks solid, which aims to show us nature in real time - birds sitting on eggs, badgers filmed in spooky black and white, herons snatching water voles from an over-grown river bank.) We're big fans, although all of us find it hard to actually sit and watch for the whole hour. I can get in a nice few rounds of tetris, Arthur will play one of his made up games - "do you mind if I play while I watch?" - and Russell, well his staying-power is really rather poor. We've enjoyed Chris Packham, instead of Bill Oddie, and his Smiths' song title tricks. We even posted a photo on the "most unusual places to find a nest" site, a moorhen's nest on an old boat, which wasn't that unusual but was the only nest we saw.
Really, it's "Animal Magic" for grown ups, but who cares.
While the guy in Wales tells us about Leather Back Turtles swimming off the Welsh coast - who knew? - Arthur is examining his extensive collection of Star Wars clone trooper packaging.
sounds like a wonderful opportunity to open a good bottle of wine, if you ask me! Thanks for the clarification for American Me!

It's something that's so classically BBC, isn't it. I wish I had the iPlayer hooked up to the TV so that Nora and James could watch it, but blimey, it is a whole hour long.
It feels familiar, like a comfortable pair of socks, and it's enthusing about something genuinely lovely.
Like I say, classic BBC really!
