Could only keep the "no screen" punishment until 7pm tonight. Still no computer though, and I made him watch both the national AND the regional news. Pocket money ban remains in place.
All rather a waste of time as the young offender told me that he quite liked being punished as it made him feel like an American teenager, by which I assume he means Zack from "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody", who is always being grounded for Disney-type bad behaviour i.e. behaviour which turns out ok in the end.
'Ask' him to repaint something that definitely needs repainting? And if he does a good job then everything's back to normal?
could be that the zen time, whilst painting could be good for reflection, on his part.
(I can only join you in your trepidation re: the future. Nora's only 5 and similarly, is generally a 'Good girl' but she really pushes it at times. Not looking forward to the inevitable escalation.
